IMPORTANT Mormon lake update!!!!! All racers!!!!

Mormon lake fire dept has mandated we all follow forest service rules. Sorry for last min notice but it just came to our attention. For the race vehicles, means we MUST NOW HAVE SPARK ARRESTORS. According to forest service rules, turbo vehicles are exempt for this.

Camping: ABSOLUTLY NO FIRES, grills must be propane only and no charcoal. No smudge pots. You can use a propane fire pit from our understanding per forest service rules and if you can use to cook you can use for heat if needed.


2025 AZOP Cinder Mountain Grand Prix – UTV ONLY Announcement
Attention 570 Class and Big UTV Racers

We at AZOP hope everyone had a fun and relaxing summer—we’re excited to get back to racing, and we know you are too!

Over the past few years, we’ve encountered ongoing challenges during the UTV races at Cinder Mountain. With smaller class sizes and longer laps compared to bikes, we’ve seen a number of issues arise, including:

  • Youth racers getting off-course or lost
  • Accusations of course cutting
  • Speeding violations in the scoring area

To address these concerns and improve the safety, fairness, and efficiency of UTV racing at the Cinders, we’re proud to announce a new partnership with Racing Trax.

New for 2025: Mandatory GPS Tracking System for All Big UTVs (Including 570 Class) for Cinder Mountain Grand Prix.

Racing Trax GPS trackers will be required for all UTVs racing in the 570 class and above. These devices provide several critical benefits:

  • Real-time vehicle tracking in case of breakdowns or lost drivers
  • Alerts for missed checkpoints
  • Notifications for on-course hazards or vehicles ahead
  • Speed monitoring in designated zones
  • Anti-course-cutting detection with full tracking history

Tracker Rental Info

Trackers will be available for rent only — personal trackers will not be permitted.
Rental cost is $135 per race, a discounted rate compared to national events ($200–$300).
Trackers must be paid by credit card and are picked up at the track.
You must arrive at the starting line 30 minutes before your race to activate your tracker.

We will have a QR code at the registration table when you checked in and we will post the link for one week following each race.

AZOP Racing MOTORIZED VEHICLE POLICY
For Camping and Pit Area

The following motorized vehicle policy goes into effect IMMEDIATELY. Please read this in its entirety. Failure to comply with this new policy may result in racer disqualification and or you may be asked to leave the premises.

No person under the age of 18 will operate any motorized vehicle except their race vehicle within the confines of an event with the following exceptions:
Race Vehicle From camp to registration and back.
Race Vehicle From camp to tech inspection and back.
Race Vehicle From camp to the starting line and back.
Race Vehicle From camp to camp for the purposes of receiving assistance with repairs.

Under no circumstances will a person under the age of 18 operate any other motorized vehicle to include golf carts. The only exception is a street legal passenger vehicle operated by a licensed driver age 16 and up, not to include golf carts, entering or exiting the venue.

Any person under the age of 18 as the operator of their race vehicle or as a passenger in any golf cart, UTV, motorcycle, quad, pit bike, OHV or any other vehicle besides a licensed passenger vehicle must wear a helmet at all times. This includes going to and from Tech inspection. You will get a penalty or disqualified if caught not wearing a helmet.

If a person who is not a racer is caught not following all these rules, the person in their camp that is a racer will be assessed with the penalty.

In addition, any other non-motorized vehicle including bicycles, skateboards or any other similar vehicles must follow any and all safety laws according to the state, county, city or town laws where the event is held, to include helmets or other safety equipment.

FOLLOW THE RULES AND THERE WILL BE NO REASON TO BE UPSET!


Tech Inspection
You MUST go through tech inspection before you go on the unclassified or parade lap (No exceptions) Also, MUST have the correct colored number combinations before Tech will pass you, So do not go to tech unless you have your numbers on your machines first. There will be colored strips and colored backgrounds and numbers available for sale at registration and near tech. If you need them put them on before you go to tech. Tech will be very busy so its your responsibility to show up early. Do not show up last minute and expect miracles!
